Committee's Objectives
The Committee of the Rural Lifestyle Expo aims to:
- Showcase sustainability, small and alternative livestock breeds, horticulture and viticulture, machinery, buildings and small-scale farming techniques.
- Attract small-acre land-holders, tree-changers, hobby farmers, organic and alternative lifestyle exponents, and those interested in exploring rural lifestyle options, to gain information and ideas.
- Provide information to promote liveability and sustainability in the Central Highlands Grampians region, to local communities in addition to potential tree-changers.
- Offer a solid programme of speakers, sessions, workshops and at least one celebrity.
- Provide an opportunity for those interested in rural lifestyles, including locals, to connect and network.
- Marketing will target people from the Grampians region, adjoining regions and the Melbourne market. In addition to regional TV and newspapers, marketing will include suburban metropolitan newspapers and the Herald & Weekly Times. Adjoining Shires have agreed to promote the Expo and to disseminate advertising: Hepburn, Pyrenees and Golden Plains.
- Increased visitation to the region through interest in local produce, services and equipment for the small-acre farmer.
- The Project aims to support and facilitate tree-changers moving to regional Victoria.
- The project aims to strengthen the economic, environmental and social base of Central Highlands communities.
- The Expo will promote liveability in Regional Victoria through assisting Regional Victorians to network, learn, develop contacts, skills and products to maximise land use opportunities.
